Do I need to have a background in science to do the project?

No science education is necessary but reading scientific articles is not easy. The less experience with scientific literature you have, the slower you will need to pace yourself. Clare is there to help you find articles and digest their contents so you can start small and get more ambitious as you go along.

Do I need to be a practicing acupuncturist or a student of acupuncture?

You can do the research project at any stage of your acupuncture career and even while you're still attending your acupuncture college courses.

As my undergraduate maths professor said to her students "if you're finding it hard, it's because it IS hard!"
